search-brand-templates
Use search-brand-templates to locate a reusable, on-brand layout in the authenticated user's Brand Templates, either as a starting point for a new design or to find a template with data fields that can be autofilled. Don't use it to find an existing design (use search-designs instead), and don't call it when the user has already given you a Brand Template ID.
Brand Templates are available to users on Canva Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Example prompt
"Show me our brand templates for pitch decks."
All inputs are optional. Pass a query to search by name, or a brand_kit_id from list-brand-kits to list one Brand Kit's templates. Optional dataset, design_types, and limit filters are described in the tool's schema.
Example response
IDs, URLs, and tokens below are placeholders; field names and structure are exactly as returned.
{"items": [{"id": "BTM_EXAMPLE1","title": "Quarterly Pitch Deck","view_url": "https://www.canva.com/brand/brand-templates/BTM_EXAMPLE1","create_url": "https://www.canva.com/design?create=true&template=BTM_EXAMPLE1","thumbnail": { "width": 800, "height": 450, "url": "https://media.canva.com/EXAMPLE_THUMBNAIL_1" },"created_at": 1704110400,"updated_at": 1704110400,"design_types": ["presentation"]}],"continuation": "EXAMPLE_TOKEN"}
Each item has an id (the brand_template_id other tools expect), title, view_url, create_url, an optional thumbnail, and design_types. Paginate by passing continuation back unchanged.
For users whose plan doesn't include Brand Templates, the tool returns an empty items list rather than an error, so treat an empty result the same way as no matches.
