create-folder
Create a folder in the user's Canva projects.
Use create-folder to set up a project folder, or a subfolder inside an existing folder, so related designs, images, and folders stay together. To file existing items into the new folder, follow up with move-item-to-folder.
Example prompt
"Create a folder called 'Q3 campaign' inside my Marketing folder."
Pass the name and the parent_folder_id. Use "root" as the parent_folder_id to create the folder at the top level.
Example response
IDs, URLs, and tokens below are placeholders; field names and structure are exactly as returned.
{"folder": {"id": "FOLDER_EXAMPLE","name": "Q3 campaign","created_at": 1758000000,"updated_at": 1758000000,"folder_url": "https://www.canva.com/folder/FOLDER_EXAMPLE"}}
JSON
The folder.id is the folder_id to pass to other folder tools, and folder_url opens the folder in Canva.
