get-brand-template-dataset
Use get-brand-template-dataset to check whether a Brand Template can be autofilled and which fields it exposes, before building the data payload for autofill-design. For an existing design rather than a Brand Template, use get-design-dataset.
Brand Templates are available to users on Canva Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Example prompt
"What fields can I fill in on the event flyer template?"
Pass the template_id of the Brand Template (its id from search-brand-templates).
Example response
IDs below are placeholders; field names and structure are exactly as returned.
{"dataset": {"event_title": { "type": "text" },"hero_image": { "type": "image" },"ticket_sales": { "type": "chart" },"price_list": { "type": "sheet" }}}
dataset maps each field name to its type: text, image, video, chart, or sheet (autofill-design can't yet write sheet fields). Use the names as the keys of the data object you pass to autofill-design. An empty dataset means the template can't be autofilled.
For users whose plan doesn't include Brand Templates, the tool returns an empty dataset rather than an error.
