Listing behavior

Learn how to set where your app’s listing takes users.

Your listing’s behavior controls what happens when a user selects its primary button. You set it on the Release > App listing details > Behavior page in the Developer Portal.

Destination

The listing’s primary button opens one of your app’s experiences, whether that’s an app inside Canva or Canva on another platform.

Preferred destination

If your app has both an experience inside Canva and also brings Canva to another platform, choose which one the primary button opens:

  • Inside Canva: Opens your app’s experience inside Canva.
  • Outside Canva: Takes users to Canva on another platform.

Canva prioritizes your preferred destination where applicable. If it isn’t applicable, Canva uses the next relevant destination instead.

Because the same listing can open different experiences, write and design your listing so that it makes sense no matter which experience opens.

Outside Canva destination

Choose Outside Canva as your destination to take users to Canva on your platform. When users select the primary button, it doesn’t open your app in the Canva editor. Instead, it takes them to your platform, where they connect Canva.

Choose how users start using Canva on your platform:

  • Start with Canva authorization: Users review and approve the access your app needs, then continue to a redirect URL. Select the redirect URL to send users to after they authorize your app. For more information about redirect URLs, see Authentication.
  • Start on a page: Sends users to a page on your platform where they can start using your app. Provide the URL of that page. Make it an entry point that leads users into the Canva authorization flow.
