The `assets` endpoint lets you upload assets to a user's Canva library. You can directly upload assets from the user’s local storage system, name and tag the assets, get information about the assets, or update and delete assets using this endpoint. For more information about assets, see [Canva concepts](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/canva-concepts/#assets). The `assets` APIs support images and videos. ## Images Image files must be smaller than 50 MB (SVG files have a lower limit, see below), and we accept the following file formats: * JPEG * PNG * HEIC * Single-frame GIFs * TIFF * Single-frame WEBP * SVG ### SVG files SVG files must be smaller than 3 MB. SVG files are validated when you upload them. If a file contains a blocked element or attribute, the upload job fails with the `import_failed` error code. Blocked items include: * Scripting and unsafe elements, such as `script`, `foreignObject`, `a`, and `switch` * Event handler attributes, such as `onload` and `onclick` * Animation elements, such as `animate` and `set` * Font elements, such as `font` and `font-face` * Deprecated elements, such as `altGlyph`, `cursor`, and `tref` This list isn't exhaustive and might change. ## Videos Video files must be smaller than 500 MB, and we accept the following file formats: * M4V * Matroska (MKV) * MP4 video * MPEG * QuickTime * WebM ## Assets APIs * [Create asset upload job](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/create-asset-upload-job/): Create an asynchronous job to upload an asset. * [Get asset upload job](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/get-asset-upload-job/): Get the status and results of an upload asset job. * [Create asset upload job via URL](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/create-url-asset-upload-job/): Create an asynchronous job to upload an asset from a URL. * [Get asset upload job via URL](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/get-url-asset-upload-job/): Get the status and results of job to upload asset from a URL. * [Get asset](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/get-asset/): Get the metadata for an asset in the user's [**Projects**](https://www.canva.com/help/find-designs-and-folders/). * [Update asset](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/update-asset/): Update the metadata for an asset in the users [**Projects**](https://www.canva.com/help/find-designs-and-folders/). * [Delete asset](https://www.canva.dev/docs/apps/rest-apis/reference/assets/delete-asset/): Delete an asset from the user's [**Projects**](https://www.canva.com/help/find-designs-and-folders/).
